I have noticed way too many Mahogany wasps (red wasps) in the sub division. I finally called an exterminator after seeing 6 of them up by our eves. We did have 3 little nests in the attic. If you are seeing these in the front of your houses, eves, trees and mailboxes check your attic as you too probably have nests.
They are nesting big time and they can be very nasty. If one of these wasps bite you, you should cover it up right away and go inside.
It's to the point where it is hard to walk outside during the hours of 12-4.
